Aloe Vera or what we usually know as Aloe Vera turns out to have a myriad of benefits for the beauty and health of our bodies. Prof. Dr. apt. Mangestuti Agil, MS., professor of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga (FF UNAIR) explained the various benefits.
It is no stranger that aloe vera gel can be used for hair beauty treatments. If used regularly, the combination of the vitamin content and moisturizing ability of aloe vera will stimulate the growth of new cells so that brittle hair and hair loss can be overcome.
Aloe vera can also treat skin problems including burns, deep cuts and inflammation of the skin. We can apply aloe vera gel on the area of the skin that is experiencing these problems. In addition to skin and body care, aloe vera has been confirmed to improve skin elasticity and can increase the stimulation of collagen production.
Gum disorders can be treated with aloe vera. In 2020, they succeeded in discovering the benefits of aloe vera for teeth and oral cavity. Not inferior to chemical-based products, aloe vera-based mouthwash is able to treat serious gum infections that damage the soft tissues and bones that support teeth.
Overcoming indigestion with aloe vera can also be done. Aloe vera leaf juice at certain doses can accelerate ulcer healing. While aloe vera syrup, if taken as much as 10 ml per day can be used to treat GERD disorders.
Don't forget, Prof. Mangestuti also warns that we must remain careful when using aloe vera gel because some people can experience allergies. To be sure, apply the gel on the inner skin of your wrist and wait for the reaction for 2 hours. Then he also advised not to use hydrocortisone cream with aloe vera because it can accelerate the absorption of hydrocortisone.
