According to the Indonesia Demographic Health Survey (2017), the low knowledge of young people about reproductive health (KESPRO) and access to reliable information about contraception have an impact on the high rate of teenage pregnancy. Until now, BKKBN continues to strive to intensify education and design of digital information related to the importance of contraception for the younger generation. However, not many young people know and utilize these facilities. On the other hand, the community is still influenced by several myths about the adverse effects of using contraception.
Therefore, on 29 November 29 2019 around 1-4 pm, students of the Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) Unair held a Health Promotion entitled "Intimately Discussing Contraception" in front of the Health Service Center (PLK) in Campus B Universitas Airlangga. This activity was created in order to fulfill the practicum task of the Department of Community Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga. The health promotion tool used was a poster accompanied by a QR Code to facilitate the distribution of information to the public. The main targets of this activity included the young generation around PLK and Campus B Universitas Airlangga. The distribution of information was in the form of direct interaction with PLK and FF Universitas Airlangga visitors and students around Campus B. During the interaction, the Health Promotion Team found that many people, especially the younger generation, were still unfamiliar with the word contraception so that this activity was actually responded enthusiastically by the people. It is shown from the number of questions after the visitors were given an explanation of the facts of contraception. In addition, the Health Promotion Team also provided game prizes, in the form of contraception quizination, as an indicator in analyzing public understanding after receiving education. Through this activity, it is hoped that the community, especially the younger generation, can understand the importance of contraception in forming a smart and prosperous family.
