Universitas Airlangga served as co-host for the 9th International Conference on Pharmacy and Advanced Pharmaceutical Sciences (ICPAPS) 2026. The international conference was organized by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on September 24-25, 2026, at Grand Hotel De Djokja, Yogyakarta.
ICPAPS 2026 served as an academic forum for researchers, academics, practitioners, and stakeholders to exchange ideas and recent developments in pharmaceutical science. This year’s conference carried a board theme focused on advanced pharmaceutical sciences and pharmaceutical care for sustainable health care.
The theme underscored the importance of pharmaceutical science advancement and pharmaceutical services in supporting the creation of sustainable healthcare delivery systems. Through this forum, various research results and innovations in pharmacy could be discussed while opening opportunities for inter-institutional and international collaboration.
Six FF UNAIR Faculty Members Participate
UNAIR's involvement as co-host was further strengthened by the participation of six faculty members from the Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) UNAIR in ICPAPS 2026. The six faculty members were Prof. Dr. apt. Aty Widyawaruyanti, M.Si.; apt. Elida Zairina, S.Si., MPH., Ph.D., FISQua.; apt. Ana Yuda, S.Si., M.Farm.; apt. Farida Ifadotunnikmah, S.Farm., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Dr. apt. Yuni Priyandani, S.Si., Sp.FRS.; and apt. Mufarrihah, S.Si., M.Sc.
The participation of FF UNAIR faculty members represented part of UNAIR's contribution in strengthening academic networks and collaboration at international forums in pharmaceutical science. The presence of these academics also reflected FF UNAIR's commitment to developing pharmaceutical research and science relevant to current healthcare service needs.
ICPAPS 2026 featured four symposiums organized to accommodate diverse interests and research fields in pharmaceutical science. The four symposiums included Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (PPCP); Pharmacy Education, and Social and Administrative Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy (PESC); Pharmaceutics & Drug Delivery System (PDDS); and Herbal Medicine and Natural Products (HMNP).
These four fields encompassed various strategic aspects in pharmaceutical science development, ranging from drug discovery and development, drug delivery systems, pharmacy education, clinical and social pharmaceutical services, to the utilization of natural materials and herbal products.
Strengthening Academic and Research Networks
UNAIR's participation as co-host and the involvement of FF UNAIR faculty members in ICPAPS 2026 served as a momentum to expand academic networks, share knowledge, and build research collaboration opportunities at both national and international levels.
Through scientific forums such as ICPAPS, UNAIR continues to promote the academic community's contribution to knowledge advancement that impacts improved healthcare service quality. Inter-institutional collaboration also represents an important step in producing pharmaceutical innovations that are adaptive to scientific advancements and societal needs.
UNAIR's involvement in ICPAPS 2026 simultaneously strengthens higher education's role in building a collaborative, innovative pharmaceutical research and education ecosystem oriented toward healthcare service sustainability.
