
Another commendable achievement has been accomplished by the academic community of FF UNAIR. Dr. apt. Abdul Rahem, M.Kes., a lecturer and also Chair of UNAIR’s Halal Center, successfully won the “Best Halal Industry Development and Empowerment” award in the Higher Education category at the Indonesia Halal Industry Award (IHYA) 2026.
The award was presented by the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia during the IHYA 2026 series held on September 24, 2026, at the ICE BSD City, Serpong, Banten.
This award represents appreciation for higher education institutions’ contributions in promoting halal industry development and empowerment in Indonesia. The role of academics and higher education is considered important in strengthening the halal ecosystem through education, research, community service, and development of innovations that support industry needs.
For FF UNAIR, the achievement of Dr. apt. Abdul Rahem, M.Kes., further strengthens the faculty's commitment to developing pharmaceutical science relevant to community needs and industry development. Specifically, strengthening halal aspects has become an important part of pharmaceutical product and service development in Indonesia.
The IHYA 2026 award simultaneously serves as a momentum to strengthen synergy among higher education institutions, government, and industry in building a sustainable halal ecosystem.
