Strengthening Clinical Pharmacy Expertise, FF UNAIR Holds Guest Lecture on Septic Shock

FF UNAIR continues to strengthen academic and professional knowledge of its academic community through a Hybrid Guest Lecture featuring Dr. Khalid Ahmad Ali Al-Sunaidar from the Faculty of Pharmacy, UniKL Royal College of Medicine Perak, Malaysia. The activity was held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Nani Building Conference Room, Campus C UNAIR. 

During this occasion, Dr. Khalid presented material titled “Management of Septic Shock (The Sepsis-3 Framework, the 2026 Surviving Sepsis Campaign Guideline, and Antimicrobial Stewardship in Practice).” the material discussed developments in approaches to managing septic shock with reference to the sepsis-3 framework, updates to the Surviving Sepsis Campaign Guideline 2026, and the application of antimicrobial stewardship in healthcare practice. 

The discussion proved relevant for students and academics in the field of clinical pharmacy since sepsis management requires a multidisciplinary approach and appropriate antimicrobial use. Through the presented material, participants gained understanding regarding guideline developments and their application in supporting effective and rational therapy.

The activity was attended by faculty members from the Department of Practical Pharmacy at FF UNAIR, students in the Master's Program in Clinical Pharmacy, and alumni of the Clinical Pharmacy Master's Program. The hybrid format also provided participants the opportunity to attend sessions online, thereby expanding the reach of the academic activity.

Dr. Khalid's presence in this guest lecture further strengthened academic relationships and international networks between FF UNAIR and higher education institutions in Malaysia. Beyond serving as a knowledge-sharing platform, the activity opened opportunities for academic interaction among faculty, students, alumni, and international academics in discussing current issues in clinical pharmacy.

Through the organization of this Hybrid Guest Lecture, FF UNAIR demonstrates its commitment to delivering learning that is adaptive to developments in pharmaceutical knowledge and practice. Such activities are expected to enrich participants' perspectives while supporting the strengthening of clinical pharmacy competencies in facing evolving healthcare service challenges.
