Skin and Cosmetic Technology Centre of Excellent (PUI-PT SCT) once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the advancement of science and innovation in the cosmetics sector by successfully hosting the 2nd International Symposium of Cosmetics 2025. The event was held on December 6, 2025, at the Nanizar Zaman Joenoes Building, Faculty of Pharmacy, Airlangga University.
Themed "Where Beauty Meets Health: Integrating Science, Wellness, and Innovation in Cosmetics," the symposium presented an in-depth discussion on the integration of health, science, and innovation in the development of the modern cosmetics industry. This theme was chosen to strengthen the understanding that cosmetic products are not only about aesthetics, but also about the health, safety, and well-being of consumers.
The event featured three outstanding and competent speakers in their fields.
The first speaker, apt. Mohamad Kashuri, S.Si., M.Farm., as Deputy for Supervision of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics at the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM). The second speaker, apt. Andang Miatmoko, M.Pharm.Sci., Ph.D., a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, UNAIR. The third speaker was Prof. Ts. Dr. Liew Kai Bin from the University of Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
This symposium was attended not only by participants from Indonesia but also by participants from various Asian countries, creating an interactive scientific forum and strengthening international collaboration networks in the cosmetics sector.
With this symposium, PUI-PT SCT UNAIR hopes to continue playing a role in encouraging innovation, strengthening research quality, and making a real contribution to the development of a safe, effective, and globally competitive cosmetics industry.
