Supporting SDGs 3, Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences (FF) UNAIR Holds Community Service and Health Education Program in Gili Iyang
In addition to conducting sea grape-based product innovation training, the community service team of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga (FF UNAIR) also held a two-day activity titled "Social Service, Health Check-ups, Dagusibu Counseling, and Multivitamin Provision for Children and Mothers" on Gili Iyang Island, Sumenep, Madura, from October 17-18, 2025. Through this activity, FF UNAIR once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting community welfare through community service activities.
In keeping with the activity's theme, various social activities were carried out in an integrated manner. The FF UNAIR health team provided free health check-ups to the local community, followed by Dagusibu (Obtain, Use, Store, and Dispose of Medicines Properly and Correctly) counseling to increase public understanding regarding rational drug use. Furthermore, the activity included providing multivitamins to children and mothers to support the nutritional status and health of families in the area.
The Gili Iyang community welcomed this activity with enthusiasm and joy. Many residents felt helped by the check-ups and education provided. This activity not only demonstrates Faculty of Agriculture UNAIR's commitment to the health of coastal communities but also strengthens the relationship between the university and the community in the spirit of sustainable service.
Furthermore, this social service activity supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 3, namely Good Health and Well-being, by focusing on improving public health and welfare through education, prevention, and equitable basic health services.
Through this activity, Faculty of Agriculture UNAIR hopes to continue to contribute significantly to improving the quality of life of the community, while expanding the positive impact of the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi activities in various regions of Indonesia.
