INFO SESSION OF THE FACULTY OF PHARMACY IN AIRLANGGA EDUCATION EXPO (AEE)

Ahead of the great event of Airlangga Education Expo (AEE) 2022, the UNAIR Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) info session was again present to greet the prospective Kesatria Airlangga on Saturday (2/19/2022). The event entitled "Becoming Pharmacist: A SMART Journey to an EXCELLENT Future" was enlivened by the Dean of FF Prof. Junaidi Khotib, S.Si, M.Kes., Ph.D., Apt., Chairman of the Bachelor of Pharmacy Program apt. Chrismawan Ardianto, S.Farm., M.Sc., Ph.D., and Chairman of BEM FF Period 2022 Farhan Rizqi Windianto. A number of FF national and international students were virtually brought to deliver testimonials. This event was attended by hundreds of high school/vocational/SETARA students, parents, and teachers who joined through Zoom and Youtube live.

As a prelude, Mr. Chrismawan gave a brief presentation about pharmaceutical higher education offered by UNAIR. This study program, he explained, is divided into two levels that can be taken for five years, namely undergraduate and professional levels. With modern and integrated learning facilities, students are supported to process into competent and work-ready pharmacists.

“The pharmacist education program is designed to produce professionals in the pharmaceutical field and will practice the profession as pharmacists in health service centers, such as pharmacies, hospitals, and health centers; pharmaceutical industry; government; and other agencies related to the management and quality assurance of drugs,” said this young lecturer.

Prof. Junaidi then introduced further FF UNAIR as a faculty that has received various recognition from accreditation bodies, including LAMPT Kes superior accreditation and ASIIN international accreditation. According to him, this proves that the learning process and curriculum at FF manages to score high quality graduates who can be accepted globally.

“The Faculty of Pharmacy alumni are working at Harvard University, the best college in the world today. Likewise with the best universities in Europe, as with Karolinska Universitet and Oxford, there are also alumni who work there," explained the dean who is also an alumnus of FF UNAIR.

The next speaker, Farhan, presented the perspective from the students' eyes. He explained that lectures at FF do not always focus on academic activities, but also nonacademic activities through social and organizational affairs. KOFEIN is one of the venues for students to be the organizers of nationwide pharmaceutical events.

"So students have a place to work and add experience, especially experience (to add) soft skills. And that is a good thing for students in addition to lectures," stated the Chairman of BEM FF.

After the Q&A session, Prof. Junaidi ended the info session with a motivational sentence "To get recognition from the community, this faculty must be able to provide benefits. (For) those who are ready to provide benefits to the community, let's join one of the best pharmaceutical faculties in Indonesia, namely the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga," he concluded.
