Motivating Residents of Jembul Village to Live Healthy
On the occasion of community service program held by the Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR, the Student Affairs Commission in cooperation with the Student Executive Board Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR on 8-10 September 2017 held PHARMASHARE in Jembul Village, Jatirejo District, Mojokerto Regency. PHARMASHARE is part of events that comprise of Training on Traditional Drug Use, Good and Proper Use of Drugs, Pharmacy Teaching, Health and Dental Examination, and Exercise with the residents.
The activities started on Friday, 8 September 2017 on 7 p.m. with the agenda being Training on Traditional Drug Use for women and young girls of Jembul Village. This training is to introduce the residents the plants around their houses that can be used for medicinal plants. The event was inaugurated by the administrators of Jembul Village, continued with training session from the team from the Faculty of Vocational Education (Traditional Medicine) Universias Airlangga
The nexxt day, the Community Service Team was split to hold two parallel events, namely Pharmacy Teaching and DAGUSIBU Training. Pharmacy Teaching is an activity held to introduce pharmacy to Jembul State Elementary School students. The class given by the Student Executive Board is related to classification of drugs, how to store drugs, and names of drugs. The event was held interestingly because it was held during class hours and compelmented with various prizes given by the organizers. Meanwhile, at Jembul Village Square there was also the DAGUSIBU Training led by I Nyoman Wijaya, Sp.FRS., Apt. This activity is filled by training and several question and answer session and games with interesting prizes.
After the training, the events on Saturday, 9 September 2017 continued with health and dental examination by a team of doctors and dentists from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dental Medicine UNAIR. During the occasion, the community also received drugs given by the community service team of Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR.
The events concluded on Sunday, 10 September 2017 with exercise attended by members of the community. There were a lot of sporting competitions and games in which all layers of the community joined, from children to adults. Through the survey held after the event, the majority of residents in Jembul Village wishes that this event will continue routinely each year since it can provide numerous uses to the community..
