Inviting Residents of Jembul Village to Live Healthy
In the event of community service held by Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR, the Student Affairs Commission alongside the Student Executive Board (BEM FF UNAIR) held the PHARMASHARE event on 8-10 September 2017 in Jembul Village, Jatirejo District, Mojokerto Regency. Pharmashare is a series of events consisting of Socialization of Traditional Medical Plants, Good and Proper Drug Use, Pharmacy Teaching, Health and Dental Examination, and exercise session with residents.
Events started on Friday, 8 September 2017 on 19.00 with the agenda of Traditional Drug Socialization for mothers and teenage teenage female residents at Jembul Village. This socialization aims to introduce the residets the drugs around their homes that can be used as medicinal plants. The event was inaugurated by administrators of Jembul Village followed by a lecture delivered by a team from the Faculty of Vocational Education (Traditional Medicine), Universitas Airlangga.
The next day, the community serivce team splits to conduct two parallel activities, namely Pharmacy Teaching and DAGUSIBU Socialization. Pharmacy Teaching is an activity to introduce pharmacy to State Elementary School of Jembul Village. The class given by BEM FF UNAIR contains games on drug categorization, how to store drugs, and examples of drug names. The event was received with great interest since it was held during school hours and supplemented with various door prizes provided by the organizers. Meanwhile, at Jembul Village Square the organizers also held DAGUSIBU Socialization event provided by I Nyoman Wijaya, S.FPRS., Apt. This event consist of a speech and several question and answer sessions containing games with interesting door prizes.
After socialization events, on Saturday 9 September the activities continued with health and dental examination by medics and dentists from the Faculties of Medicine and Dental Medicine, UNAIR. During the examination, residents also received drugs provided by the UNAIR community service team.
The events concluded on Sunday, 10 September 2017, by public exercise with the residents. This event is filled with competitions and sports attended by all residents of Jembul Village from children to adults. Through a survey distributed after the event, most of residents of Jembul Village wished that this event is held every year since it provides a lot of benefits for the community.
