PT Kosmesia conducted a visit to FF UNAIR on Thursday, August 13, 2026. The visit aimed to explore cooperation opportunities for the development and creation of innovative cosmetic products.
During the meeting, PT Kosmesia expressed its interest in collaborating with FF UNAIR on developing products that possess innovative value while utilizing the potential of Indonesia’s natural resources. In response to this, FF UNAIR offered the development of anti-aging formulations as one of the products with potential for collaboration.
One of the advantages offered in the development of this formulation is the utilization of natural ingredients sourced from West Papua as supplementary materials to support anti-aging activity. The use of these local natural ingredients is expected not only to add value to the product but also to represent efforts to promote and develop Indonesia’s natural resource potential through innovation in pharmaceutical and cosmetic fields.
This collaboration is targeted to produce a product ready for launch in early 2027. During the product development and manufacturing process, FF UNAIR will also receive support from the Center for Business Acceleration and Innovation (PASINBIS) of UNAIR, so that the product development process is expected to proceed in an integrated manner, ranging from formulation aspects to product development.
PT Kosmesia's visit also brought together two parties with backgrounds closely connected to FF UNAIR. From PT Kosmesia's side, attending were Mr. Sabdha Agung, representing the owner and also an FF UNAIR alumnus; Mr. Agung Anggara, Factory Director; Ms. Cholin, R&D Manager; and Mr. Fariz, R&D Formulator, who is also an FF UNAIR alumnus.
Meanwhile, from FF UNAIR's side were the leadership and team members of the Health Dermatology and Cosmetic Technology Research and Innovation Unit (PUI-PT).
This meeting represents a strategic initial step in building synergy between higher education and industry. Through collaboration among FF UNAIR, PUI-PT for Health Dermatology and Cosmetic Technology, PT Kosmesia, and PASINBIS UNAIR, it is hoped that an innovative anti-aging cosmetic product will emerge, possessing competitiveness and promoting Indonesia's natural resource potential.
This cooperation is also expected to serve as a concrete example of the implementation of higher education research and development results into products that can provide benefits to society while strengthening the utilization of Indonesia's natural wealth.
The collaboration between FF UNAIR and PT Kosmesia aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, particularly in encouraging innovation development, strengthening industrial capacity, and implementing higher education research and development results into products that can be utilized by society.
