Participants of the Student Exchange Programme (SEP) Incoming 026 had the opportunity to expand their understanding of the pharmaceutical industry world through an industrial visit at PT. Otsuka Indonesia, Malang, on July 30, 2026. This visit was one of the academic agendas designed to provide a real picture of the application of pharmaceutical science in the industrial environment and introduce drug production standards in Indonesia.
The activity began with a presentation session regarding the profile of PT. Otsuka Indonesia, which included company history, business fields, and various pharmaceutical products produced. Additionally, participants also received explanations regarding drug production processes and the implementation of quality systems that form an important part of maintaining the quality of pharmaceutical products.
Following the presentation session, the exchange participants participated in a laboratory tour to directly observe various stages in the drug production process. Through this visit, participants could observe the application of production standards, use of industrial facilities, and work systems implemented in producing pharmaceutical products that are safe, of high quality, and meet applicable regulations.
This industrial visit activity provided an educational experience that enriched participants’ understanding of the pharmaceutical industry world while connecting concepts learned in the academic environment with professional practice in the field. Through this visit, it is hoped that exchange participants will obtain more comprehensive insights regarding the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Indonesia and become increasingly motivated to contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical science at the global level.
