
The dean together with Vice Deans I, II, and III of FF UNAIR participated in UNAIR’s Second Quarter Leadership Meeting held in Yogyakarta on Thursday through Saturday (July 23-25, 2026). Carrying the theme “Beyond Excellence: Accelerating Transformation of Universitas Airlangga Toward a World-Class Entrepreneurial University,” this meeting served as a forum for evaluation and formulation of the university’s strategic direction going forward.
The activity was attended by UNAIR rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, SE., MSi., MFin., Chairman of the Board of Trustees (MWA), vice rectors, university secretary, deans and vice deans, directors or directorates, as well as heads of centers and institutions within UNAIR. To enrich perspectives, vice rector for Research, Business Development, and Cooperation from UGM, Dr. Danang Sri Hadmoko, SSi., Msc., was also present to share UGM’s experience in building research and innovation ecosystems.
In his remarks, Prof. Nursalam emphasized the role of MWA in overseeing tri dharma policies and implementation of the university’s strategic plan, while asserting that UNAIR’s transformation requires synergy from all leadership elements. In line with this, Rector Prof. Madyan highlighted the importance of strengthening business units as pillars of PTN-BH independence and appreciated the contributions of all leaderships and academic community members toward UNAIR’s positive achievement to date.
Meanwhile, Dr. Danang from UGM shared best practices regarding research implementation, strengthening resources, and the importance of alumni networks as strategic partners in institutional development. This perspective enriched the knowledge of UNAIR’s leadership, including the FF UNAIR Deanery.
FF UNAIR’s presence in this meeting represented support for UNAIR’s efforts to strengthen governance, innovation ecosystems, and strategic collaboration, in line with the shared aspiration toward a world-class university that is excellent, independent, and has real impact for society. This participation also supported the achievement of SDGs, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through strengthening governance and quality of higher education, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through developing institutional research and innovation ecosystems, and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals) through strengthening strategic collaboration among higher education institutions.
