The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga continues to demonstrate its commitment to expanding its international network through an academic visit by FF UNAIR lecturer apt. Suciati, S.Si., M.Phil., Ph.D. to Universiti Malaya from May 20 to 22, 2026. The visit encompassed research discussions, an international guest lecture, academic networking, and the signing of a cooperation agreement with a biotechnology-based industry in Malaysia.
On May 20, 2026, Dr. Suciati held research discussions and explored potential collaboration with researchers from The National Antarctic Research Centre under the Yayasan Penyelidikan Sultan Mizan (YPASM) Malaysia research program. The discussion was attended by Dr. Teoh Teow Chong and Dr. Mohammed Rizman Idid. The meeting was productive, covering a range of opportunities in multidisciplinary research development, particularly around natural product exploration and bioinformatics-based research.
On the same day, Dr. Suciati also delivered a guest lecture for the Advanced Roles of Bioinformatics in Propelling Research course, organized by the Master of Bioinformatics (MBioinfo) program at the Institute of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya. She presented on "Roles of Bioinformatics in the In Vitro and In Vivo Studies for Alzheimer's Disease Drug Development." The session was attended by master's students in bioinformatics and ran interactively through discussions on how bioinformatics can be applied in the development of drug candidates for Alzheimer's disease.
The international engagements continued on May 22, 2026, with research discussions and networking sessions alongside researchers from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Malaya, namely Dr. Sagir Mustapha and Dr. Muhammad Luqman Nordin, as well as Dr. Najihah Mohd Hashim from the Centre for Natural Products, Universiti Malaya. Discussions centered on collaboration opportunities in natural products, pharmacy, and the development of health technologies grounded in innovative research.
Beyond strengthening academic ties, Dr. Suciati also held research collaboration discussions with Grusonn Wellness, a biotechnology-based company producing functional food derived from mushrooms. As part of this agenda, a cooperation agreement was signed as an initial step toward developing collaboration between academia and industry in support of natural product-based health innovation.
