Following a successful first day, the workshop held by the Innovative Pharmacy Practice and Integrated Outcomes Research (INACORE) research group at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga continued into its second day on Wednesday (9/4/2026). The second day carried the theme "Applied Research and Study Design in Pharmacy Practice," with a focus on strengthening participants' ability to design pharmacy practice research in a more applied, hands-on manner.
The first session featured Prof. Dr. apt. Umi Athiyah, M.S. and apt. Andi Hermansyah, M.Sc., Ph.D. as speakers, presenting a session titled "Formulate Research Questions in Pharmacy Practice Concept with AI Tools." Participants were guided through how to frame the right research questions in pharmacy practice, while leveraging various AI-based tools to support more systematic and efficient exploration of research ideas.
The following session was led by apt. Elida Zairina, MPH., Ph.D., who presented "Intervention Study Design in Pharmacy Practice: Methods and Applications." She walked participants through various intervention research design methods applicable to pharmacy practice, including how to construct studies capable of generating strong scientific evidence to improve the quality of pharmaceutical care.
In the third session, Prof. Dr. apt. Yunita Nita, M.Pharm. presented "Outcomes & Instruments in Pharmacy Practice." This session gave participants a deeper understanding of why selecting the right research outcomes and measurement instruments matters and how doing so leads to valid and reliable data in pharmacy practice studies.
Closing out the second day, Dr. apt. Catur Dian Setiawan, M.Kes. delivered "Statistical Analysis at a Glance," a concise yet comprehensive overview of the statistical analysis approaches commonly used in pharmacy practice research, helping participants grasp the basic steps in processing and interpreting research data.
Overall, the second day of the workshop ran smoothly and drew high enthusiasm from participants representing academics, researchers, and practitioners from various regions across Indonesia. Beyond strengthening research capacity in pharmacy practice, the event also served as a space for collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers.
The workshop also aligns with the Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Airlangga's commitment to supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnership for the Goals) through strengthening collaborative networks, building research capacity, and fostering knowledge exchange among stakeholders in the health and pharmacy sectors.
