On Saturday, 19 October 2024, the Community Service Team (pengmas) of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Airlangga University (FF UNAIR) held an activity entitled "Training on Aseptic Dispensing of Sterile Preparations for Pharmacists in Makassar City and Surrounding Health Services". This activity is one of a series of events commemorating the 61st Anniversary of FF UNAIR.
Located at the 3rd Floor of the Rectorate Building, Makassar Islamic University (UIM), this activity was successfully carried out thanks to the collaboration between FF UNAIR Makassar Branch Management Pharmacists Association (IAI PC) and of course UIM.
This activity was attended by pharmacists from Makassar and surrounding areas who work in various fields, especially in hospitals and inpatient health services.
The head of this community service activity is Dr. apt. Dewi Isadiartuti, M.Sc. said that the training activities provided by him and his team were routinely carried out every year at the local, regional and national levels.
Rector of Makassar Islamic University Prof. Dr. H. Muammar Bakry, Lc., M.Ag in his speech, stated that he welcomed the activity which aims to continue to improve the knowledge and skills of pharmacists in carrying out their duties and hopes that this activity can continue in the future. Likewise with the Chairman of IAI PC Makassar, apt Abd Rakhmat Muzakair in his speech and opening of the event.
Present as a resource person for this activity, Prof. Dr. apt. Retno Sari, M.Sc with material on Formulation and Dispensing of Sterile Preparations, Dr. apt. Dewi Isadiartuti, M.Sc. with material on Stability and Compatibility of Parenteral Preparations, Dr. apt. M. Agus Syamsur Rijal, M.Sc., with material on Aseptic Techniques for Sterile Preparations, and apt. Dinda Monika Nusantara Ratri, M. Farm.Klin with material on Sterile Preparation Dispensing Problems in Hospitals. In this training, participants are also given the opportunity to practice aseptic techniques in managing sterile preparations.
Through this activity, it is hoped that the knowledge and skills of trainee pharmacists can be increased so that pharmacist professionalism can be realized in improving pharmaceutical services in Makassar City health facilities. This is of course in line with the goal of SDGs 3 "Good Health and Wellbeing".
