Implementation of International Community Service in Johor Malaysia
Not only focusing on teaching, tertiary institutions which have important roles and responsibilities in community development are also tasked with carrying out community service (pengmas). The Faculty of Pharmacy, Airlangga University (FF UNAIR), as the best pharmacy faculty in Indonesia, of course also does this.
Together with the World Universities Association for Community Development (WUACD) UNAIR team, FF UNAIR carries out international community service activities. The team from FF UNAIR consists of Deputy Dean III, Prof. apt. Dewi Melani Hariyadi, M.Phil., Ph.D. accompanied by two lecturers. Both are apt mothers. Suciati, M.Phil, Ph.D. and Mrs. apt. Gusti Noorrizka Veronuka Achmad, S.Si., M.Sc.
This community service was held in Johor Malaysia for three days from 25-27 August 2022. This activity was also successfully held thanks to the collaboration between UNAIR and Universiti Teknolongi Malaysia (UTM).
At that time, all the participants who were local residents of Johor Malaysia wore red clothes together. Meanwhile, the FF UNAIR and WUACD UNAIR teams of course wore clothes that are proud of the Indonesian people, which are beautiful and unique, batik.
At that time the participants were given education regarding family medicinal plants or what we usually call TOGA. They are equipped with knowledge about the use of TOGA and what properties these plants contain. The participants' enthusiasm for this activity was evident from their seriousness in listening to the material presented. They also did not hesitate to ask several questions to answer their curiosity.
At the end of the event, the participants along with the community service team from FF UNAIR, WUACD UNAIR, and UTM did not forget to take pictures together to remember the moment. Not only that, there was also time to give souvenirs before taking the group photo.
This activity certainly makes FF UNAIR's contribution to community development greater. This is because UNAIR FF community service activities are not only carried out in Indonesia but also abroad, so the impact is wider.
