Students Practicing Making Herbal Products
After successfully carrying out Community Service (Pengmas) last week in Sumenep, Madura, today (2/8/2023) Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga (FF UNAIR) is again holding community service activities with an equally interesting topic. With the title "Education on Medicinal Plants and Their Utilization to Improve Health and Their Development as Innovative Entrepreneurial Products for the Millennial Generation", this activity was held in the 1st floor Hall of the Nanizar Zaman Joenoes Building.
The activity chaired by Ms. Apt. Tutik Sri Wahyuni, S.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. This event was attended by 35 students from the Alif Laam Miim City Islamic Boarding School in Surabaya and ran smoothly. Not only listening to explanations regarding herbal plants, the participants were also invited to make herbal products in one of FF UNAIR's laboratories.
The enthusiasm of the participants could not be contained when they started making products from medicinal plants. They are accompanied to make products in various preparations both for oral preparations in the form of herbs, herbal drinks or other innovative products for external use such as masks, scrubs or soap.
The implementation of this activity is a form of FF UNAIR's support for the implementation of SDGs No. 3 good health and well being about a healthy lifestyle and SDGs No. 17, namely partnerships for the goals, especially regarding technology transfer and its implementation.
After the activity, it is hoped that the participants who are the younger generation will be able to utilize herbal plants both for health and for entrepreneurship because they also have economic value.
