Research focus of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is the development formulation of natural ingredients derived from plants, marine biota, and synthetic drugs to improve the characteristics of active pharmaceutical ingredients and their delivery systems, design, and synthesis to improve the characteristics and activity of active pharmaceutical ingredients, grade, and quality analysis starting from active pharmaceutical ingredients to pharmaceutical formulations, both as drugs, food, and cosmetics in various bioactivities; such as anti-cancer, anti-male fertility, anti-malaria, anti-virus, antiosteoporosis, anti-osteoarthritis, anti-diabetes, anti-hyperlipidemia, analgesic, anti-flatulent, anti-inflammatory, anti-thrombosis, immunology, anti-microbial, anti-amoebic, and anti-aging.

The Department of Pharmacy Practice (DPP) is committed to achieve excellence in education, research and service with moral foundation as the prime character of people in Universitas Airlangga. Through innovation, collaboration and advocacy, the OPP furthers the Faculty of Pharmacy mission to continuously promote professionalism, foster critical thinking and contribute to the creation of new knowledge to the pharmacy profession and healthcare. Academics, researchers and administrative staffs in the OPP are dedicated to drive innovation within the Faculty of Pharmacy and beyond and we engage with the students to enable them to make an impact on patient care in Indonesia and globally.
