The Center for Excellence in Science and Technology of the College of Dermatology and Cosmetic Technology (PUI-PT SCT) of Airlangga University underwent a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) session on Friday, November 28, 2025. The event, held in the second-floor meeting room of the Nanizar Zaman Joenoes Building, proceeded smoothly and productively.
Dr. Surya Sumpeno, S.T., M.Sc., served as the primary assessor. He was accompanied by a team from the Directorate of Research and Community Service, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. The assessment team's presence aimed to assess program development, performance achievements, and the sustainability of activities carried out by PUI-PT SCT UNAIR during the assessment period.
During the Monev session, the assessor team provided several constructive inputs for strengthening governance, improving research quality, and solidifying strategies for downstreaming innovative products. These suggestions were well received by the PUI-PT SCT team, which will serve as a foundation for the future development of the center of excellence.
Following the presentation and discussion session, Dr. Surya Sumpeno and his team were also invited to tour the research facilities at PUI-PT SCT. The group visited several laboratories and office spaces to directly observe the supporting facilities for research and academic activities. This field visit provided a more in-depth overview of the research process, the quality of the facilities, and the daily activities of researchers at PUI-PT SCT UNAIR.
This monitoring and evaluation activity is expected to strengthen PUI-PT SCT's commitment to producing quality research, value-added innovation, and making tangible contributions to the development of skin health science and cosmetic technology in Indonesia.
