FF UNAIR Introduces Indonesian Traditional Medicine Through Indonesian Heritage 2023

After successfully holding a Summer School for two weeks last year, this year the Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Airlangga (FF UNAIR) is again holding a summer program entitled “Indonesian Heritage (Inherit) 2023” in collaboration with Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta.

With the collaboration of these two well-known universities, Inherit 2023 participants have the opportunity to carry out more activities in several cities. For five days to be precise, July 24-28 2023 they will spend time in Surabaya and Probolinggo. Then until August 2, 2023 they will have activities in Surakarta.

On this day (24/7/2023), the participants underwent lectures in the Hall of the Nanizar Zaman Joenoes Building regarding traditional medicine delivered by three speakers. The three are Prof. Dr. Kenji Watanabe from Keio University Medical School Japan, and Prof. Dr. apt. Mangestuti Agil, MS and Prof. Dr. apt. Noorma Rosita, M.Sc. who is a professor at FF UNAIR.

At that time, the participants who came from various countries, namely Malaysia, Singapore, Syria, Nigeria, and Bangladesh, did not want to share the traditional medicines used in their countries. This is what makes the value of this activity even higher because a lot of cross-country information is obtained.

Apart from lectures, the committee also prepared question and answer games based on the material presented by the speakers. The participants looked active and enthusiastic to scramble to answer the questions raised by the committee.
