Maria Apriliani Gani: Youngest Doctor of Pharmacy Graduate

Do not waste your youth, that is the principle that Maria Apriliani Gani upholds. This woman who was born in Minahasa, April 9, 1999, succeeded in obtaining a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at a very young age.

In fact, Maria also received an award as the best graduate in the doctoral program of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga with a perfect GPA of 4.00. During his undergraduate studies, he has shown his interest in the world of research with various PKM competitions (student creativity programs) at the national level and won a Scientific Publication Quality Improvement (PKPI) scholarship from the KEMENDIKBUD-RISTEK.

Overseas Research
Through this scholarship, Maria took the opportunity to do research for six months at Seoul National University, South Korea. Apart from that, he is also involved in a research project with the University of Rennes, France, and received the Séjour Scientifique de Haut Niveau (SSHN) mobility assistance from the French Government.

"There I can get to know new technologies that don't exist in Indonesia. I also learn a lot about positive culture and some of them I apply in Indonesia,".

The youngest doctoral graduate revealed that doing research abroad is not an easy thing. He faced challenges in adapting to the new culture, but eventually managed to overcome it all. Experience abroad gives him insight into technology that is not yet available in Indonesia, as well as an understanding of positive culture that can be applied in this country.

Best Achievement
Her success as one of the youngest doctors in Indonesia is a source of pride for Maria. His achievement as a new doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences came just days after his 24th birthday. "Five days after my 24th birthday, I graduated as a new doctorate in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. I am very happy because this is my 24th birthday present," said the PMDSU scholarship awardee (Masters to Doctoral Education for Superior Scholars) That. Maria felt very happy because she was educated at such a young age, and this was a special gift for her.

In her doctoral studies, Maria Apriliani Gani conducted research and developed nanometer-sized biomaterials for bone defect applications with the aim of overcoming the problem of the high cost of imported bone implant products in Indonesia.
