Alumni Sharing 2025: Uncovering Hidden Paths in the World of Pharmacy

Alumni Sharing 2025: Uncovering Hidden Paths in the World of Pharmacy

“Everyone has a different path to reach their point of success.”

That sentence became the common thread of the Alumni Sharing 2025: Unveiling Hidden Paths in Pharmacy activity, an event that opened the insights of Faculty of Pharmacy students about the breadth of career opportunities in the pharmaceutical field. Not only in pharmacies, hospitals, or the pharmaceutical industry, it turns out that pharmaceutical science can also lead someone into various professional fields that may not have been widely known before.

Student and Alumni Collaboration Platform

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, the Public Relations Department, in collaboration with Pengprof, held the Alumni Sharing 2025 webinar.

This program provided a platform for students to interact directly with alumni in a relaxed yet insightful atmosphere.

The goal: to provide a realistic picture of the world of work and various career paths after graduation.

This year, three alumni were present as speakers, each bringing an inspiring career journey story from three different fields: veterinary pharmacy, food pharmacy, and forensic pharmacy.

Veterinary Pharmacy: Maintaining Animal Health, Supporting Global Health

The first session was presented by apt. Muhammad Nashrullah, S.Farm., who thoroughly discusses the role of pharmacists in the world of veterinary pharmacy.

He explained the differences between veterinary drugs and human drugs, the classification of veterinary drugs, and the major responsibility of a Veterinary Drug Technical Officer (PJTOH) in ensuring the quality, safety, and legality of the product.

Mas Nashrul also highlighted serious issues such as the circulation of illegal veterinary drugs and the misuse of antibiotics, which can lead to antimicrobial resistance.

According to him, pharmacists in the veterinary field have an important contribution in maintaining animal health which ultimately also affects human and environmental health (One Health Concept).

Food Pharmacy and Pharmapreneurship: From the Laboratory to the Business World

The second topic presents apt. Samsul Sudhibiyo, S.Farm., who opened the participants' views on food pharmacy and pharmacreneurship.

As Founder and Director of PT. Yasma Natura International, he invited students to see the great potential in the pharmaceutical science-based food industry.

“Pharmacists don’t just formulate drugs, they also formulate opportunities,” he said firmly.

Mr. Samsul shared his story in developing a maklon business at Yasma Natura, starting from production collaboration, innovative product development, to maintaining quality amidst dynamic industrial competition.

The message is clear: pharmacists have a major role to play in creating functional and healthy food products that benefit the wider community.

Forensic Pharmacy: When Pharmaceutical Science Meets Law

The final session was presented by Senior Commissioner of Police. apt. Kuswardani, S.Si., M.Farm., who introduced the world of forensic pharmacy, a field that combines pharmaceutical science with law and scientific investigation.

He explained the various roles of pharmacists in the analysis of raw materials for drugs, cosmetics, and food, as well as their contribution to proving legal cases, such as suspected poisoning or drug abuse.

Although “forensic pharmacy” is not specifically regulated, Mr. Kuswardani emphasized that the role of pharmacists in supporting scientific investigations and law enforcement is crucial.

Finding Direction, Creating Opportunities

Through Alumni Sharing 2025, participants were made aware of the broad and dynamic scope of the pharmacy profession.

From veterinary medicine to food science and forensics, the speakers demonstrated that pharmaceutical science can provide real benefits in various sectors of life.

This activity is not just a place to share experiences, but also a source of inspiration for students to dare to step out of their comfort zone and create their own path to success.

Because in the end, being a pharmacist is not just about understanding medicine, but about how to use that knowledge to impact health, humanity, and the progress of the nation.

This activity reflects FF UNAIR's support for realizing SDGs 4 "Quality Education".
