After the first day of the Indonesian Heritage (Inherit) 2023 agenda was carried out smoothly, activities continued in Ngadisari Village, Probolinggo, East Java. The committee and participants of Inherit 2023 along with the Community Service Team (Pengmas) of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga (FF UNAIR) left for Ngadisari Village this morning (25/7/2023).
Arriving at the Ngadisari Village Hall, two speakers who were FF UNAIR lecturers, namely apt. Rr. Retno Widyowati, S.Si., M.Pharm., Ph.D. and apt. Tutik Sri Wahyuni, S.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. began delivering material on the use of herbal medicines.
Inherit 2023 participants are also welcome to share knowledge regarding traditional medicines that they usually use in their home countries. Apart from that, they also had the opportunity to interview local residents (Tengger Tribe) to explore what herbs they usually use, of course, accompanied by the Inherit 2023 committee as language translators.
Not only that, UNAIR FF community service team assisted by Inherit 2023 participants also educated the public by practicing distillation techniques to produce essential oils from medicinal plants.
Afterwards, the participants were introduced to TOGA and its use. Then they were invited to plant TOGA on the land that had been provided in Ngadisari Village. All the participants looked enthusiastic while planting the TOGA, and many of them even memorized the benefits to the Latin names of the plants planted at that time to increase their knowledge.
