One of the Professors of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga (FF UNAIR), Prof. Dr. apt. Sucardiman, MS. officially releasing the book in early February 2023. Despite his busy schedule, who currently serves as UNAIR Director of Education, Prof. Sukardiman was able to produce two books at once.
Through these two books that were released, Prof. Sukardiman proved that his busy schedule did not prevent him from working and sharing his knowledge with the wider community.
The book he produced earlier this year was entitled "Development of Antidiabetic Fitofarmaka Herbal Medicines" and the second book he wrote together with three other authors was entitled "Potential Anticancer Effects Combination of Diterpene Lekton Fractions from Sambiloto or Andrographis paniculata Ness with Cancer Chemotherapy".
The first book examines the development of herbal medicinal products of phytopharmaca from a combination of bitter herb extract (Andrographis paniculata Ness) and mahogany seed extract (Swietenia mahagoni Jacq) as a diabetes drug.
Meanwhile, the creation of the second book was based on the fact that cancer is the biggest cause of death after cardiovascular disease and infectious diseases. Therefore, according to him and other authors, the use of bioactive compounds from natural ingredients as ingredients with low toxicity combined with chemotherapeutic agents is an appropriate alternative to be used at this time to obtain synergistic effects and be able to reduce side effects.
