Introduction

Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Airlangga is proud to announce the upcoming annual International Conference, International Graduate Student Conference on Pharmaceutical Sciences (IGSCPS) 2025, scheduled to take place on September 17, 2025, at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia. This conference serves as a platform for sharing scientific advancements, fostering collaboration among academics, practitioners, researchers, and professionals at both national and international levels. Importantly, it provides graduate students with the opportunity to disseminate their research findings and publish their articles in internationally indexed journals.

The theme for this year’s conference is "Innovating Global Health and Well-being: Emerging Voices in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences". This theme holds significant importance in the contemporary context as it emphasizes the crucial role of pharmacy in addressing global health challenges. The ongoing evolution of the pharmaceutical sciences demands innovative approaches to developing effective therapies, improving patient care, and enhancing drug accessibility, which are vital for achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As the global population continues to grow, so do the complexities of healthcare. The pharmacy profession, recognized as an integral component of healthcare systems, is uniquely positioned to contribute to the improvement of health outcomes through the development of new medications and therapeutic protocols. By inviting speakers from various countries who are experts in their respective fields, the conference aims to present cutting-edge research and practices that can stimulate discussions on innovative solutions for pressing health issues.

The topics to be presented at the conference include a wide range of critical areas in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences:

  1. Pharmaceutical Analysis
  2. Pharmaceutical Technology
  3. Clinical and Community Pharmacy
  4. Cosmetics
  5. Pharmacology and Biomedical Sciences
  6. Natural Products and Drug Discovery
  7. Drug Development and Medicinal Chemistry
  8. Complementary and Alternative Medicine

These topics are particularly relevant as they align with several SDGs, including Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, which emphasizes the need for healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. The advancement of pharmaceutical sciences directly correlates with the development of effective medicines and health interventions that can target diseases and health issues prevalent in both developed and developing nations. Moreover, fostering innovation within these fields can significantly contribute to improving health systems and achieving better health outcomes.

Furthermore, the integration of emerging technologies in pharmaceutical practices—such as personalized medicine and digital health solutions—underscores the need for continuous professional development and interdisciplinary collaboration. This conference will serve as a forum to explore how these innovations can be harnessed to meet the evolving health needs of populations worldwide.

The conference also recognizes the importance of empowering graduate students to share their research. By facilitating their engagement in such an esteemed event, Faculty of Pharmacy Airlangga University aims to cultivate a new generation of pharmacy professionals who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to global health. By promoting collaboration among emerging voices in the field, the conference seeks to inspire innovative approaches that address the multifaceted challenges of contemporary healthcare.

In conclusion, International Graduate Student Conference on Pharmaceutical Sciences (IGSCPS) 2025 will not only provide a significant opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaboration but will also serve as a critical platform for discussing the future of pharmacy and its indispensable role in promoting global health. By addressing the challenges and innovations within the field, this conference will contribute to the broader goal of achieving sustainable health outcomes and fostering a healthier future for communities around the world.
