The Golden Triangle 2020

The Golden Triangle is an annual agenda that is always followed by students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga. The Golden Triangle itself is an event that involves pharmacy students from four universities in Surabaya, which are Universitas Airlangga, Hang Tuah University, Widya Mandala Catholic University, and Surabaya University. Consisting of 11 branches of competition, the Golden Triangle presents the other side of pharmacy students who are not only merely a matter of practicum, reports, and a host of other assignments. The fields contested in the Golden Triangle event include basketball, futsal, volleyball, table tennis, dance, badminton, KTI, choir, debate, chess, and counseling.

This year, it became an honor for the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga to host the Golden Triangle event. Carrying the theme “Unity in Diversity”, the Golden Triangle 2020 was expected to be a means to establish good relations between pharmacy students in Surabaya even though they come from different universities. The event itself was officially opened on Sunday, 1 March 2020 in the Multipurpose Hall of Faculty of Pharmacy. Henceforth, a series of competitions were held on 21, 27 and 28 March 2020.

Although the competition happened in the middle exam weeks, it was not a significant obstacle for the execution of the Golden Triangle event. The Chairman of the Golden Triangle, Ahmad Rafi, said that the obstacle actually came from the licensing issue where the competition was held and related to the making of the competition regulations because they had to unite the votes of the representatives of the 4 universities themselves. Ahmad Rafi revealed that the committes’ preparation for this event had reached 80%. “Preparations had been made for weeks, only D-day execution left”, he added.

The Golden Triangle 2020 event which was held along with middle exam actually became a plus point. Students of Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR could take part in a series of competitions while releasing fatigue after struggling with exam questions.
