PHARMADAY: CEKATAN

Tuesday (11/26) - Group B-1 of Community Pharmacy, led by Mones, a nickname from Noor Annisa Mones, 7th semester student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga University, conducted a health promotion in front of the Health Service Center (PLK) of Universitas Airlangga at around 1-2 pm. The health promotion carried out by the group regarding Pre Travel Health Preparation, or health preparation that must be done before traveling. "As the end of the Community Pharmacy Practicum, we conduct a health promotion related to this (Pre Travel Health Preparation). Previously, we also obtain data related to community preparation before traveling. It turns out that our respondents receive health information mostly not from pharmacists and also the storage of public medicine during traveling also still needs to be straightened out." said Mones.

The spirit of group B-1 did not recede although the heat was quite high. However, their desire to provide information to the surrounding community was quite large, plus the information was quite important for the community and quite easy to do with the specific tagline of the group. "So that the public can easily get the information, we make a tagline that is easy to remember, the tagline is CEKATAN, which stands for the four steps of preparation. First, looking for destination information, second, health check, third. carrying drugs needed, and fourth, adjusting drug storage. Besides that, there are also songs and exercises, so it makes this activity more interesting." said Naufal, one of the members of group B-1. Not only information, but B-1 group also succeeded in making health promotion activity more interesting by carrying out games and prizes for people who visited their booth.

The responses of the community were quite diverse, from those who chose to avoid or those who chose to receive information and pay attention closely. Based on attendance data, there were more than 40 people who had been given information related to health preparation before traveling and the community response was very good as evidenced by the questionnaire that was given after giving out information. "The activity is pretty good, finally, we, as common people know what to prepare, especially related to health problems. So far, we rarely pay attention and take care of it,  but now after getting this information we can finally know and try to do it" said Mr. Alex, one of the booth visitors.
