Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Airlangga held a health promotion event on drug management for the elderly at the Health Service Center (PLK) Campus C UNAIR on Tuesday (11/26/2019) from 1-4 pm to increase public knowledge about drug management.
Based on the survey that has been done, the management of drugs for the elderly in Surabaya is still inappropriate, so that health promotion activity is carried out. It also becomes an effort to improve the quality of public health. The promotional event is aimed at the campus academic community and the surrounding community. This activity contained an explanation of the topic DAGUSIBU through several media such as brochures, games, and interactive quiz. 
The program was well received by the community as seen from the enthusiasm of the people who participated and discussed about drug management, especially in terms of drug storage. In fact, in storing medicines, people and the elderly often ignored the rules of drug storage, as well as taking and disposing drugs. However, the community had applied appropriate way to get it. In addition, there were some people who were reluctant to use drugs because of the issues circulating about the drugs they consumed.
"The health promotion this year is considered to be better than the previous year because the setting is located directly at the health facility, but it is necessary to maintain the calm and comfort of patients who come to the health facilities" explained by Firmansyah as the head of the health promotion group.
"The activity is very interesting, in addition to increasing knowledge there are also very exciting games" said Nurrokhmah, one of the participants in the health promotion.
By holding this event, it is hoped that this activity will benefit the community, especially the elderly, where they can be more concerned about drug management such as how to obtain, use, store, and dispose medicines.
