Visit from the College of Pharmacy, University of South Florida
On Friday, 24 March 2017, the Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Airlangga received a visit from Professor Yashwant Vishnupant Pathak, M. Pharm., Ph.D., EMBA, MS CM (Master of Science in Conflict Management) from the College of Pharmacy, University of South Florida. Prof. Vishnupant was received by the Dean, Vice Dean I, Vice Dean II, and Vice Dean III, Heads and Secretaries of Programmes in the Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR.
This visit is part of the faculty’s efforts in supporting Universitas Airlangga to become a World Class University. The purpose of the Sullivan University President Award recipient for academic achievement was for introduction and discussion of partnerships with the Faculty of Pharmacy for the next 2 years. Prof. Pathak also had discussion with the departments.
Besides discussing partnerships, Prof. Pathak also delivered a guest lecture for the students of Apothecary Education both on the undergraduate and professional levels, as well as graduate students. Prof. Pathak, who since 2010 became the Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Affairs, College of Pharmacy, University of South Florida, Tampa Florida, also was given the opportunity to become a reviewer of graduate students’ thesis defense.
In the discussion, Prof. Pathak stated that I terms of curriculum, pharmacists graduating in the present will be in work for the next 30-40 years. We need to pay attention whether the current curriculum is already sufficient to prepare graduates for those 30-40 years.
