Still carrying the same theme, namely "The Soul of Jamu and Bromo Cultural Remedies", The 3rd International Summer School, Association of Indonesian Pharmacy Higher Education (AIPHE) Year of 2022 carried out the practice of making herbal medicine which was directly supervised by Rosita Handayani, lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University Airlangga (FF UNAIR) after the previous day the participants were introduced to batik and wayang. There are 4 kinds of preparations made, namely cold powder, mangir, herbal rice kencur, and jamu turmeric acid. This agenda will be held on August 21, 2022.
International students are divided into 3 groups, where each group is required to make these 4 preparations which are guided by 1 laboratory assistant. The purpose of this activity is to make international students recognize traditional ingredients from Indonesia which have many benefits. As well as cold powder that will be used as a face mask, mangir for a scrub that can remove dead skin cells, kencur rice to increase appetite, and tamarind turmeric to improve brain function.
At the beginning of the activity, a video was shown on how to make it accompanied by an explanation. Then the session continued with making herbal medicine according to the group that had been determined. For approximately 2 hours, each group is required to make the four preparations which will later be judged by the team. At the end of the session, international students are required to present the results that have been made while being given input by the jury.
