The Indonesian Pharmacist Competency Test (UKAI) was successfully held on August 6-7, 2022. The CBT Center of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga (FF UNAIR) is one of the locations for the UKAI. A total of 239 UKAI participants took the exam in an orderly and conducive manner at CBT FF UNAIR. The test participants consisted of 65 students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya (FF UKWMS) and 174 students of FF UNAIR. The exam time was divided into 3 sessions.
Interestingly, test takers from FF UNAIR are required to wear black and white uniforms during the exam. This is intended to familiarize prospective pharmacists to appear neat and formal when they enter the world of work and become professionals later.
Before entering the UKAI CBT exam room, students must pass several series of strict checks and comply with health protocols. Participants are required to go through body temperature checks, documents, face verification, physical checks and metal detectors, and are always required to maintain a distance, use masks and hand sanitisers that have been provided by the committee.
After the exam is over, the return of the participants must also be at the same time and only allowed to go home if it has been directed by the committee. All participants must also maintain a distance in accordance with the prokes and are advised to go home immediately so that there is no chance for examinees in different sessions to meet.
The participants admitted that they were very relieved after being able to take the UKAI exam, but there were also concerns and anxiety experienced by some participants regarding their exam results. It is hoped that the participants will be able to pass the exam this time so that they can take the pharmacist's oath and legally become professional pharmacists.
