As an effort to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2030, Universitas Airlangga is also determined to implement the Green Campus concept, one way is by innovating to minimize the use of bottled drinking water. The hope is that this can reduce plastic waste, apart from the BPA contained in plastic containers.
According to the report of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020, the amount of waste heap in Indonesia reaches 67.8 million tons in a year. Of the total waste, 15 percent of which is plastic waste.
In realizing the green campus, the Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Airlangga (FF UNAIR) is fortunate to be able to cooperate with PT. Coway International Indonesia in providing clean drinking water and reducing plastic waste due to the use of bottled drinking water. The delivery of 10 Water Purifier Units from Coway Indonesia will greatly support the program.
PT. Coway International Indonesia also provides the best service to FF UNAIR, including installation of tools by coway technicians and free maintenance.
Currently the water purifier has been installed, so that the entire academic community in FF UNAIR can make good use of it. FF UNAIR also urges staff and students to bring their own tumblr or drinking place every day and use the installed water purifier to meet their drinking needs.
