After being able to reveal how dangerous BPA is through research, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Airlangga (FF UNAIR) continues to encourage the government not to let the public be harmed by continuously being exposed to BPA.
He was aggressively voicing his ideas when he was appointed to be a resource person at various activities that carried the topic of BPA and the safety of bottled drinking water (AMDK) some time ago. According to him, BPOM can take action to minimize the risk of exposure to BPA through labeling food and beverage packaging.
“Currently, the public does not yet know the great dangers of exposure to BPA. How can you know if the warning label has never existed," said Prof. Junaidi Khotib.
Support from various parties also needs to be obtained so that the community can be protected from exposure to BPA which can harm the community in terms of health and materially. It is known that currently, academics, researchers, and industry associations are starting to realize the terrible dangers of BPA and fully support BPA labeling.
