BITTER FACTS REGARDING EXPOSURE TO BPA CONTAINS IN PACKED DRINKING WATER

Bottled drinking water that is widely circulated in the market is allegedly containing Bhispenol A (BPA). Most ordinary people still don't know how dangerous the BPA compound used in the plastic packaging is.

Currently, many studies have begun to reveal how dangerous these compounds are. The reason is that contamination from BPA compounds is said to be able to trigger the risk of catastrophic diseases such as infertility or fertility disorders, autism in children, metabolic disorders, to cancer.

The amount of drinking water a person needs in a day can reach 1,146 ml, so if drinking water is exposed to BPA, the risk is also higher. Losses will increase because the cost burden for the diseases caused is not cheap. Not to mention the incidence of infertility is also not covered in BPJS Health funding.

Biomedical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Expert as well as Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Junaidi Khotib said that the presence of academics is expected to be able to provide scientific-based data to support government policies that favor the wider community. "We are open and encourage useful research. This is part of our duty to provide science-based data to be used for policy support that favors the community for the progress of the nation," he said.
