Public Dialogue about 'Omnibus Law' Draft

On Friday, 28 February 2020, a public dialogue on the Draft of Omnibus Law. The event was held in the Amerta Hall, Rectorate Building of Universitas Airlangga Campus C with the speakers Dr. Umar Juworo (Special Staff of the Indonesian Coordinating Minister for the Economy), Dr. Rudi (Macroeconomist/Vice Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business), Dr. Moch Turino (Economic Practitioner), and Dr. Radian Rahman S.H (Legal Expert). In addition, the event was attended by economists and legal experts related to the omnibus law, Special Staff of the Coordinating Minister for the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Chancellor, Unair officials and Professors, President of Student Board of Universitas Airlangga, and student representatives from all faculties.

In this event, there were a number of important points that were conveyed, namely regarding the Direction of Economic Policy in Indonesia, Investment that must be encouraged to realize the goals of further economic policy, the Positive and Negative effects of Omnibus Law in terms of law and legislation, as well as the Omnibus Law Output.

Throughout this event, it is hoped that students can gain new perspectives about Omnibus Law and be more aware of its positive and negative effects. The influence of Omnibus Law for Indonesian people is a crucial matter mainly related to the employment opportunities since it has been regulated in its draft. In addition, students are also hoped actively escort and evaluate any government’s policy along with its effects for the public.
