Analgesics in Pregnant Women

On Wednesday, 27 November 2019, a Health Promotion event named "Analgesic for Pregnant Women" was a part of the Community Pharmacy Practicum course at the Health Service Center (PLK) in Campus B, Universitas Airlangga. This activity is an annual agenda known as "Pharmaday" which is a form of education to the community on campus.

The activities of group A3 of pharmaday was carried out from morning until noon. The material was presented using video and wall magazine media, which contained everything from epidemiology and the introduction of complaints that are commonly experienced by pregnant women, how to cope with pain in addition to using drugs, classification of drugs, categories of drugs that are safe to use for pregnant women along with various drugs, dagusibu (get, use, store, dispose of) drugs and self medication to treat pain in pregnant women. The target of this pharmaday is not limited to pregnant women, but also to future mothers and fathers. Moreover, our material contained general classification of drugs  which was also an important information for the wider community.

The series of activities began with patients who had finished the examination, we invited them to come to the stand and filled in the attendance list. Then, we provided health promotion information according to the topic. After that, patients could ask questions if they did noy understand the material provided. At the end of the session, we gave a questionnaire regarding to the satisfaction with health promotion and gave gifts to patients who were willing to take the time to listen to our health promotion.

Pharmaday was going well. Patients enthusiastically listened to our health promotion. Although there were some patients who were not willing to take the time because in they were in a hurry to leave the place. From this health promotion, it is expected that in the future it can benefit the community more.
